From late June to early September, Kraljevica will once again come alive with a rich summer programme that brings together culture, music, sports, tradition, and entertainment for all generations. The “Summer in Kraljevica” festival, together with its special programme segment, the “Kraljevica Cultural Summer”, offers more than sixty days of events at attractive venues throughout the town.

The event continues to grow year after year thanks to the strong interest of visitors, the dedicated work of local associations from the city area, the support of numerous sponsors, and a shared commitment to preserving tradition and enriching Kraljevica’s summer cultural life. A detailed schedule of all events, dates, times, and locations can be found on the poster below.

The programme begins in late June with traditional sporting events – the Bruno Kurolt Memorial Middle Football Tournament, the 31st Kraljevica Cruiser Regatta, and the 6th Senior Cruising Sailboat Regatta. These events form part of the broader initiative “Primorje-Gorski Kotar County – European Region of Sport”, which promotes active lifestyles, sports culture, and community spirit.
The official opening of the Kraljevica Cultural Summer will take place on 2 July with the highly anticipated concert by Mirjana Bobuš, “For the Soul, with Soul” (“Za dušu z dušon”), followed by a series of outstanding cultural and entertainment events. Visitors can look forward to the musical-stage spectacle “Stardust – An Evening of Film Music”, children’s performances and programmes, open-air film screenings, guided tours, and numerous concerts by renowned performers.
Among the highlights of the music programme are concerts by Sanja and Zec who will perform the greatest hits by Novi Fosili, Klapa Šufit, Tomislav Bralić & Klapa Intrade, and Magazin, as well as performances by many local musicians and bands. Kraljevica’s summer stage will transform into a true dance floor during the Porto Retro – Blast from the Past event featuring Infinity Band, bringing plenty of positive energy and authentic retro vibes. Another memorable evening of music will take place beneath the historic tuna towers as part of the new seaside concert concept, “Guitar under the tuneras”.
Theatre and comedy lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy performances and stand-up shows by legendary comedians Enis Bešlagić, Željko Pervan, and Ivan Šarić.
A special emphasis of this year’s program is placed on promoting the values and unique characteristics of the Kvarner region. Through its gastronomic events, Kraljevica is participating in the “Kvarner – European Region of Gastronomy” project, showcasing local flavours, traditions, and culinary heritage. Highlights include the traditional “Tira, Tira” festival dedicated to tuna fishing and the “Fešta od Klapunic”, better known as the Mussel Feast.
Visitors will also be able to take part in new guided tours for domestic and international guests, as well as a costumed tour of Frankopan Castle, alongside numerous religious and traditional local celebrations.
Contemporary art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the international art project “Reflected Territories / The Lights of Urinj”, while Frankopan Castle will host the exhibition project “Not Yet. – In Absence of a Map” and a range of cultural programmes throughout August, with all castle exhibitions open to visitors.
The festival will conclude on 1 September with the concert “The Voice as an Instrument”, an evening featuring some of the most beautiful opera arias in the atrium of Frankopan Castle. The concert will include participants of the masterclass as well as distinguished opera artists, including the internationally acclaimed operatic tenor Francisco Araiza and opera singer Marija Vidović.
Most events are free of charge, while tickets for selected concerts and performances are available at the Tourist Information Centre, the Kraljevica Visitor Centre, and through authorised ticketing platforms.
We invite all residents and visitors to spend their summer in Kraljevica and experience a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, outstanding artistic programmes, and the authentic atmosphere of the Adriatic coast.
