The Routes of the Frankopans
From the beginning of the 12th to the second half of the 17th century, the Croatian noble family Frankopan left numerous testimonies of their influence and power in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The cultural route The Routes of the Frankopans encourages the evaluation, restoration, preservation, protection and innovative interpretation of 17 Frankopan castles and and three sacred buildings. Nova Kraljevica Castle is the first stop on a historical and cultural journey and an invitation to explore the rich material and spiritual heritage of Frankopan and Zrinski, stretching from Krk through Vinodol to Gorski Kotar.
