Many may mistakenly interpret them as diving platforms, but they are actually part of a much more intricate apparatus. The tuna nets, known as tunere, are a centuries-old system designed for tuna fishing. They consist of lookout posts to spot the movement of tuna, nets to capture the fish and a platform.
