Under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27 to raise public awareness of the great impact of tourism on social, cultural, political and economic values around the world. This year, World Tourism Day has the theme “Tourism and Peace”. This is to emphasize the important role of tourism in promoting peace and understanding between cultures and people. Leaning on this inspiring topic, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County emphasizes the importance of tourism not only as an economic activity, but also as a means of strengthening interpersonal relations and understanding other cultures. Tourism has a unique ability to bring people together, develop cooperation between them and create unique experiences that enrich the lives of both tourists and their hosts. In this spirit, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County participates in the celebration of World Tourism Day by organizing a trio of free trips for citizens that will enable them to discover the beauty and richness of the cultural and historical heritage of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County through the Cultural-Tourist Route The Routes of the Frankopans. Three excursions have been designed – each with a different destination and unique content. A special bus with fifty seats for excursionists is provided for each trip.
