Nova Kraljevica Castle was once again filled with children’s laughter and a joyful atmosphere during another edition of Children’s Day at Frankopan.

On Sunday, May 31, a large number of children and their families enjoyed a rich, full-day program that combined play, learning, creativity, and socializing in the unique historic setting that only our Kraljevica can offer.

From the very beginning of the event, young visitors enthusiastically took part in educational and creative workshops. Through the “Croatian legends” workshop, they discovered fascinating stories from Croatia’s cultural heritage, while the Traveling Scientists once again delighted the audience with their exciting experiments. The “Dog business” workshop, led by Dog Unit, also attracted great interest, introducing children to the world of dogs and the importance of responsible pet care in a fun and engaging way.

A special charm was added by the “The Stubborn Wand” workshop, inspired by the Frankopan picture book about Nova Kraljevica Castle. Meanwhile, young builders participating in the Edukido program used LEGO bricks to create their own medieval fortresses, towers, and bridges.

Throughout the day, children enjoyed the “Colorful little cloud” mini zone, the FunTime disco program, face painting, and encounters with animals. Particular excitement was sparked by the donkeys from Lucić Family Farm (OPG Lucić) and the Simba mobile exhibition of unusual animals.

The stage in front of the castle was reserved for talented children and young performers. Visitors enthusiastically watched performances by Kindergarten Orepčići, Dance Queen Dance Club, students of the HGD Zvijezda Danica music course, and pupils from Kraljevica Elementary School. The youth members of the Kraljevica Volunteer Fire Department (DVD Kraljevica) and Karting Club Rijeka also presented their activities.

A large audience gathered for the entertaining “Ki Gre na Igre” program hosted by Marko Sladić, while the day concluded with the puppet show “The Wilful Wand”, which beautifully brought another edition of this beloved family event to a close.

In addition to the diverse program, visitors were able to explore creative and STEM-themed activity corners, learn about the work of local exhibitors, and enjoy gastronomic specialties inspired by Frankopan heritage, including the irresistible almond-style fritule by the Tonkine Fritule brand.

Children’s Day at Frankopan once again demonstrated the importance of events like this for the local community, serving as a place where memories are created together and where children’s curiosity, creativity, and play are encouraged.

We would like to thank all participants, partners, performers, volunteers, and visitors whose smiles and positive energy helped create yet another unforgettable day at our castle!
